The presenter will report on writing projects in Korean classes at the University ofKansas and the Defense Language Institute. The effectiveness of the projects was assessedthrough administering student questionnaires. The writing samples were then analyzed bywriting types. It was found that students improve their writing skills through creative andexpressive writing. The final booklet produced through the writing project includes notonly writings and but also images, such as cover design, comics, drawings, and pictures.
